Pre-service Check

Check:

• If bike starts and runs

• Wear and tear of parts

• Damage and/or Faults

 

Engine

• Change oil

• New oil filter

• New sump washer

• Check oil level

• Check for leakage

 

Final Drive

Drive chain

• Clean, adjust and lube chain

• Clean and re-oil air filter

• Check condition of chain and drive sprockets

• Check wheel locknut torque

 

Drive belt

• Adjust tension

• Check condition/wear

• Check wheel locknut torque

 

Drive shaft

• Replace shaft oil

• Check condition/wear

• Check wheel locknut torque

Brakes

Check:

• front and rear brake operation/wear

• condition of front and rear brake lines and brake disc

• break reservoirs for leakage

​

Electronic Functions

Check operation of:

• Indicators

• Low and high beam

• Park light

• Horn

• Front and rear brake light switches

• Dash neutral light

• Switch block kill switch

• Sidestand switch

 

Tyres

• Check condition and pressure of front and rear tyres

• Adjust tyre pressure of front and rear tyres

Battery

• Load test battery

• Check terminals are secure

• Spray battery terminal protector over battery terminals

• Check charge rate

​

Operation controls

• Check and adjust throttle and clutch freeplay

• Check and top up clutch fluid

• Check lever and pedal positions

Lubricate

• Clutch cable

• Throttle cables

• Choke cable

• Brake lever pivot shaft

• Brake pedal pivot shaft

• Clutch lever pivot shaft

• Shift pedal pivot shaft

• Sidestand pivot shaft

• Footpeg pivot shaft

Cooling system

• Check Radiator coolant level and condition

• Check Overflow level and condition

• Coolant top up

​

Wheels and suspension

Check:

• Front and rear bearings

• Steering bearings

• Swing arm linkage bearings

• Rear shock absorber operation and condition

• Front forks operation and condition/leakage

​

Test ride

Check:

• Idle speed

• All dash functions are working correctly

• Clutch operation

• Smooth gear changes

• Unusual noises

• ABS operation if applicable

• Any oil or coolant leakage during and after test ride

​

Bike presentation

• Clean bike of any oil/grease markings made during service

• Check over work

• Clean and wipe over bike to be presentable for return
